We know great coffee.

Once she had mastered how to make the best cup of coffee, Big Bang Coffee Roasters’ founder Elina Dart  dropped everything and moved to a Hawaiian coffee farm. She immersed herself in learning everything she could about what makes for a fantastic coffee bean, and even participated in the organization of the Best of Kona coffee competitions. Upon her return, Elina spent two years roasting coffee in her garage. Only then, after over a decade in the coffee industry, did she open Big Bang Coffee Roasters.

Big Bang Coffee Roasters buys only the freshest of fair trade beans from reputable, organic growers. Beans are purchased seasonally by region to ensure peak freshness and minimal environmental impact.

Why Fair Trade?

Times have changed! Farmers have computers and internet; they know what their coffee is sold for and prices have gone up. Many roasters are saying fair trade doesn’t matter anymore. We disagree.

Elina started this business with a mission to ensure that every hand that touches these beans has a better day. Farm workers, not just the farmers, need to have fair wages and safe working conditions. Nowadays the only independent organizations that are watching out for workers are Fair Trade, Rainforest Alliance and UTZ certifications. Check with your roaster, find out the certifications, it makes a difference.

Taste the difference air roasting makes
Big Bang Coffee Roasters chooses the finest beans, and precisely roasts them on a bed of hot air. The result is a bean with a deep, clean and complex flavor, without the bitterness and aftertaste created by barrel roasters. Big Bang’s precision roasting process ensures consistency of flavor.
